Today was a long day as many volunteers prepared these lucky flyers for their first plane ride. Yes it will be a long one, all the way to New York for the 50 chosen ones. As you can see from the photos and video, a lot goes into making sure all goes smoothly for these little ones. Many people volunteer many hours getting everything prepped so there are no issues on flight day. And yes, things were ready and off to LAX we went. Lucky it was nice and cool, so heat wasn’t an issue as it is sometimes in the summer. Everyone arrived on time and they were prepped for final boarding for their flight later tonight. It was so very hard for some of the foster moms to say goodbye for the last time. It never gets easier, but knowing they are going to good homes is at least some consolation, not much, but some. Tomorrow is a new day and other dogs will be waiting for their turn.
