This Thursday, Friday and Saturday (September 27-29) I took 33 dogs up north for them to begin a new life. Some were already adopted before we even left. Here they wouldn’t have a chance; up north they will get adopted into very loving families and begin a life that they should have had down here. People always ask why not, and we have to explain that there just aren’t enough homes for them all. It takes a huge effort by all concerned parties to make this happen. It’s by all working together that we are able to do this. And it costs. The rescue will have invested an average of $300-$400 in every dog by the time it gets up north. There are transport fees, vet fees, boarding fees and shelter pull fees. It’s not cheap folks. But is it worth it? Just ask the dogs. If not for these folks all would have been dead days ago. Is it worth it to that dog? I would say so. And I am sure the dogs agree.
