Yes, she was turned into the shelter as a stray. She had been bred a number of times, and when no longer any use to her “owner”, she was dumped at the shelter as a “stray” so they didn’t have to pay the turn in fee. They know how to play all the angles of the system. She is so sweet and friendly, just wants a little attention, which I’m sure she didn’t get much of. She has several medical issues that the rescue will need to address and then she will go to an experienced foster for a while to see how she adjusts to a real home life with other dogs, older kids and even her own bed. In time all the memories will fade and be replaced by a much happier life. That’s what we all work for, one dog at a time.
