I could not get him to raise his head while we were loading him. Not at all. You see Diesel has some issues and one of them is that he will bite. That’s why I was transporting him out of county so he could continue his training and learn some social skills as his previous owners never bothered to teach him. He is a big boy and when we off loaded him we had to take the kennel in the kennel area and get him out that way. Yes he was growling somewhat so just being cautious, we did it that way. Give him time to settle down and get used to his new area before any more stress is added to his already overloaded skill set. I am sure in time he will come around and be able to play well with others, just now is not that time.
Oscar Is Doing Well
Today is when Oscar finally gets to go home from the vet where he has been the last week having his leg amputated because his prior owners didn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t get his leg taken care of years ago when he was somehow injured. We pulled him from the shelter knowing that this was needing to be done and there would be no possible adopters lining up for him – the first photo on the left is from the day we pulled him. Well it’s done and now begins the long recovery period that lies ahead of him. He all ready has placement with a foster family when he is ready, but that won’t be for quite awhile down the road. All we can do now make sure rehab goes smoothly and take it one day at a time. Soon he will be running in the grass as a true tri-pod and all the other dogs will check him out and find him just like them and life will go on.
