More Pitties On Their Way

September 1, 2011 by Animal Resources

Met up with Glen again in Baldwin Park to transfer 3 more wonderful pitties for him to transfer to Justin’s Love-A-Bull Rescue in Tucson, AZ and then on to their new adoptive home. Glen had a blow out going across the desert from Phoenix and that caused us to wait an extra 2 hours for him. In total we spent almost 6 hours waiting in the heat. The dogs were well watered and had plenty of walks. Tried to let them rest, as they weren’t used to all the quiet with me versus all the noise in the shelter. They were just glad to be out and about. I know there were wondering what was next for them, believe me guys, it’s all good!

Quarantined

August 28, 2011 by Animal Resources

This little guy came into Animal Control at Death’s door step. He was very sick and weighed very little. The medical staff nursed him back to life with a lot of love and antibiotics. Today I pulled him and transported him to a rescue in Mission Hills in the valley. All is well for him.

BUT, his little cell mate about the same age was being visited by a potential private adopter and the little guy scratched the person. So what does the staff do? Put the little guy in 10 days quarantine. Anyone who has dealt with puppies knows they scratch and bite. Goes with the territory. Can you imagine how long 10 days is to a pup? Someone there needs to get a dose of common sense. Totally uncalled for. I had them put a note in his file that I will pull him at the end of the quarantine period, if he is still alive, and take him to a rescue. Let’s see in 10 days how it turns out.
