Although very important, and I do it just about every Thursday, I pickup/dropoff dogs that are to be fixed that day at the Simi Valley low cost spay-neuter clinic. The guests for today have to be there at 8:00 a.m with a schedule pickup in the afternoon between 12:00-2:00 p.m. The staff there is the greatest and all my dogs have been fixed there. If more people would get their animals fixed, I wouldn’t be moving them all over the place, scrambling to find homes for them. Boy would I love to be put out of this business by the lack of need. I don’t see it in the cards for the near future, but maybe one day. All we can do is hope.
Who Strikes Terror In The People’s Heart!!!
(Is This The Face Of T- Rex?)
I only had one dog to transport to Baldwin Park to meet up with Glen. It was 105 degrees there so I drove around and found a shady spot under some trees in a church parking lot. Nice and quiet and peaceful. For a while. Two of Baldwin Park’s police cruisers pulled up and said the owner of the property objected to us being there as she didn’t want any pit bulls on her property. I explained that we were just sitting in the shade, trying to beat the heat and the dogs would not be let out to walk around and wouldn’t bother anyone. After I explained that I rescue and transport the dogs to find homes out of state, she calmed down a bit and the police handled it very well. And they were very nice and polite. I will say that she was terrified of poor shadow and there was no way I was going to talk her into giving him a chance. But all ended well with me sitting in the shade and T-Rex in the back wondering what it was all about. Best he never knows.
