On Thursday I was asked if I would take a mommy Chow mix and her 3 pups to Sacramento to be placed with Cheryl at Adopt A Chow. I said of course I would, if you can arrange a puller on this short notice. Joan did, and the rest is history. I showed up at Devore Animal Shelter at 10am on Saturday and Pat, from a local rescue that volunteered to pull, was also there. She filled out all the paperwork and by 11am I was on the road to Sac-town with the mom, her pups and one extra 8 month old chow that we just couldn’t leave behind. I called Cheryl on him and she said it was ok, so we loaded him up too. What’s one more considering what his alternative was? I do know they all were on that day’s list to be put down, so it was today or never. Thankfully all came together and they are now up north and safe. I arrived back in Camarillo about 2am and had a 10am appointment at the Camarillo shelter on Sunday. That’s another story.
No, It’s Not Mars
Late Friday night I had to pull 3 pitties from the Camarillo shelter just before closing and transport them the holding facility in Simi for their stay of about 10 days or so. The red photos are from the only light source being the halogen night lights which give the red appearance. Maybe in this case the saying of, better red than dead, might be true.
