As you can see, I had a very mixed group of dogs on this trip from the Lancaster shelter to Oasis Boarding, just a few miles from the shelter in Palmdale. The poor min pin was suffering seizures, I guess that’s why he was dumped at the shelter. The shepherd mix has kennel cough, I didn’t see any signs, but it’s something that a lot of dogs come down with while they’re at any shelter. The little doxie mix was just frightened at all the changes going on in his life. These are some of the 27 dogs I have pulled from various shelters in the last 5 days. It’s been busy for me, but exciting for the dogs and what is to come for them. That’s what makes it all worth it.

But that also included 1 cat and 4 kittens. They need homes too. The German Shepard pictured below was so emaciated that they couldn’t fix him. The vet didn’t want to take the risk until he put more weight on. The English Spaniel was a 12 year old turned in to the shelter by the previous owner. How do people do that? I don’t know and probably don’t want to. I do know he couldn’t see well and had other health issues. He was very frightened and really stressed out. I hope that in the time he has left that he makes bunches of new friends and comes to realize that some people really do love old dogs.
