Today I transported the smallest female boxer I have ever seen from the Santa Paula shelter out to a boarding kennel. She was maybe 30 lbs. and she is full grown. She could use a few more lbs. around the middle, but she would still be so tiny for a boxer. And she was so sweet, just loved everyone. She will be a great dog for some family up north. Lucky them, lucky her.
Another Spay And Neuter Run
This time it was all cats. The photo is to show what 10 carriers look like and how they have to be handled. It is different than handling the dogs. The cats have to be transported in their own carriers, each in his own little world. They are taken out one at a time only after sedation has taken effect. Then the procedure is completed and the cat is put back in the carrier so there is no mixing them up. You also have to be very careful when handling them. Cat bites and scratches are worse at time than dog bites.
