Today I worked 11 hours driving all the cats and dogs to get fixed. There were 3 large, 10 small-medium dogs and 10 cats (2 feral). This required that I make 2 complete round trips to Simi Valley for drop off and two complete pickup trips to accommodate everyone. We got them all fixed, it just took a lot of driving time. Come to find out, one dog had already been fixed. No problem, we substituted another one and off we went. One cat had a notch in her ear, meaning she was already fixed. That’s okay, we found another to take her place. There isn’t any shortage of likely candidates and the line never seems to get smaller.
It Was Pittie Puppies Today
I was asked to go out to the Devore Shelter today and pull a pittie mom and her 8 one week old puppies. As usual it was her last day, then they would have killed her and the pups. Since the rescue already had a foster lined up and who was waiting for me at the shelter, I didn’t transport them anywhere, just got them out and turned them over to the foster. The mommy was really frightened but very sweet. We loaded up the pups in cardboard boxes for the short trip to the foster’s house. As far as I know everything is well. Nine lives saved, many more to go.
