When you are a foster for these little guys, it’s sometimes very hard to let go of the kids when it’s their time to move on. Today I went to Devore (again) and pulled the little pregnant Doxie girl and the black/tan Chi mix. They were happy to leave the shelter and go to the boarding facility. We also brought three that had been in a foster home to the boarding facility where all five will meet up with the transport taking them up north. For the three that had been in a foster home it was a sad parting after being together for so long, but we all know it’s for the best. This foster will be getting another dog in a few days and helping them also have a chance at a new life. It’s so hard for the departing ones, but the new arrivals are just as happy to have a place to go, if only temporarily.
Are We Happy Or What?
Meet Nemo. I picked him up at a vet clinic in South L.A. and transported him to a foster way out in the desert near Palm Springs. Even though it was very hot Nemo took it all in stride. In about five minutes he had made himself at home and acted like he had always lived there. Someone had owned and spoiled this dog, he’s definitely not one of the hardship cases I so often see coming out of that area. It’s about time someone from that area knows how to treat a dog right. I am sure there will be no problems finding this guy a good home. Good luck Nemo and behave.
