As he was labeled “rescue only” I was expecting a feral, or at least cat that was having a hard time adjusting to his environment. But no, out comes Truman who was very sweet and just wanted to be held. Was he adjusting well? Probably not; for a cat, the shelter is far more stressful than for dogs. They just do not like it there. No matter what the staff may do or not do, they just don’t like it. He was pulled for an outstanding local rescue and he is on his way to a much more friendly and cuddly place. Life starts again.
So Sad
This maybe 1 year old little pitbull was so scared and frightened when brought out of the shelter. He had been labeled aggressive and therefore had to be in the bite cage. Was he aggressive? Maybe from being scared. When we arrived at the vet office, I spent time with him to calm him down and when we took him out of the kennel he was very frightened, but not aggressive. In time he will be fine. Maybe the previous owners didn’t socialize him, he might not used to being with people, who knows. A lot of care and love and handling will work wonders with this guy. Let’s hope so.
