Today I picked up two dogs that a certain animal control agency was bound and determined to kill. Why they went to so much effort to accomplish this is beyond me. Many good folks were involved in saving these two dogs lives and that was very important to them (the dogs). Certain rescue folks didn’t give up on the quest to save these guys, and the results are now flying their way on to a much better life than they ever had in California. This whole affair was about egos and power plays by some, ignorance by others. Remember folks, it’s what is best for the dog that matters and living is always better than dying.
Is There A Better Way To Spend New Years?
Today I spent much of the day on the road to various shelters getting out the last for the year. First I went to Lancaster and pulled this little pregnant chihuahua mommy. She was not bitey, but could be from the way she responded. They did tie her muzzle before giving her a micro chip. After that she was fine and off we when to a boarding kennel close by. Next I went to the Camarillo shelter and pulled a chow for a rescue. Such a love bug, the sweetest chow I have ever met. Why he is in the shelter is beyond me, he is so sweet. I delivered him to a boarding facility in Sunland and by then it was too late to try and go to South L.A. shelter. So we will do him on Wednesday. I tried but just couldn’t get there in time with the shelters having shortened their hours for the holidays. It was still a busy day.
