Today I delivered 11 dogs to a transport heading to rescues up north. Some of these guys have been waiting for a few weeks, how do I know? Well a few weeks ago I took them for the spay-neuter appointments. Small world I guess. I was so glad to see them going, their wait in finding a new home is almost over. Not having much luck getting adopted in So Cal, I know their chances are much better up there.
Wanted 20, Only Got 9
That’s the way it goes at the shelter sometimes. Some dogs aren’t available yet, some are dead, and some are reclaimed by their owners. You just never know until you go to the counter and start the process. Some shelters are very organized and know what they are doing; others, not so much. Some shelters I like working with as they do try to care about the dogs; others, not so much. I always feel like every dog that I pull now has that second chance, a new lease on life. From this moment forward it’s all about them. Thank God for the great rescues I work with as I know that they will all find homes that some have never had, and for others is now only a memory.
