Today I pulled a pittie mix for a rescue that adopted the dog out 2 years ago. To whom I don’t know and after seeing the dog maybe its best I don’t. I don’t know if the dog changed owners in that period of time, but he is a good example of a dog that never has known a warm hand or just a pat on the head. This guy was absolutely terrified of people; cowered in the corner, would not come near you on a leash, wouldn’t make eye contact eye at all. What happened to him we may never know. I mentioned to the rescue that he acted semi-feral. I have dealt with them in the past and it won’t be an easy recovery road ahead. A lot of love and confidence-building will be needed plus a whole lot of patience. The expenditure of effort will be great, but the rewards will be greater.

Today I was up by 1:00 a.m. in the morning to make a long trip out to pick this little one up at a boarding facility and get him back to the Van Nuys airport in time to make his 8:00 a.m. flight time. I arrived at the boarding facility and Dave was as nice as you can be after I drug him out of bed a little before 5:00 a.m. I loaded up Misty and off we went into the night. We made it to Van Nuys with time to spare (7:30 a.m.) and it was potty break time for all. Yes she did enjoy playing in the grass and being the puppy that she is. Someone is getting a wonderful dog down the road and they will never know the effort that many folks put in to get her there. We all keep in mind that it’s about the dog, not us.
