Today I went to the shelter and picked up one dog that I had to bring to meet a transporter down in Rollin Heights, as she was taking the dog to a foster much farther down south. People are sometimes surprised at how far these dogs travel to meet up with a foster that will take good care of them. All need decompression time just out of the shelter. I have no doubt this lady is well on her way to finding that special home. The others that I picked up from a transporter did not fare as well. They were sent back by rescues up north deemed not adoptable. If they only had contacted me I know I could have found another rescue up north that would have taken them and saved them a very long and tiresome trip. Well, I dropped them off at their rescues and we will see what happens as we move forward. Never ending.
Dead Dog Walking
Meet Frosty, again. This is the dog from June 19th that I pulled from the shelter; then the shelter staff pulled her back and cancelled his departure, so they say, she can go to the vets to be evaluated as to the extent of his injuries and whether or not to be killed at the vets. Well they did have second thoughts and she was pulled from the shelter by another puller and she was taken to a vets, then went home with a foster. I picked her up at a vets today, so she could be transported to another vet hospital to be evaluated again. Her wounds are healing, rescues are just concerned about eye issues. I will let you know his prognosis after his vet visit. It will be a long road for this girl, but she will make it.
