Today at 2:30 a.m. I got up, got dressed, took the dogs for their walk, got McDonald’s for breakfast, refueled the van and was on the road by 4:00 a.m. on my way to a kennel in Culver City to make a 5:30 a.m. pickup time for these two that only last week we had rescued from a not so great place. Remember these two had been in a kennel for a year, now they are doing all this moving around and having new meet and greets everywhere. I believe they get overwhelmed at times with all the newfound attention. We had everyone loaded and the plane departed around 9:00 a.m. for their new home in Oregon. I know there is plenty of running room where they are going and I’m sure they will make the most of it. I know their chance of being adopted there are so much better than here. Good luck to all.
One More Stop On A Long Journey
Today I picked Frosty up at the vet where we had dropped her off June 25th. She had her surgery and I think looks a whole lot better. She seemed more energetic and was very happy to see her foster mom again. It’s so hard on these dogs, bouncing from point to point. She needs rest and a lot of TLC right now and I am sure she will be fine down the road. The rescue has paid out over $2,000 for her care in just the last 8 days or so with all the medical that was needed. That’s how good a rescue she has in her corner right now. And that’s what makes them a good rescue. I’m so proud of them.
