Today I went to a shelter that had two German shepherds that a rescue wanted; but when I got there, right at opening, there was a young lady waiting for one. She just had to have him and it was her birthday, so I relented my pull on him and he was adopted by this person. Now it may seem strange, but I am not always in favor of that because without spending a lot of time with a dog, how do you know it the right dog for you? I have seen a number of these adoptions from a shelter not work out and the dog gets returned in a day or so. But being her birthday and all…. I had the shelter place a note in the dog’s file, that if returned please contact me. We all hope it works, but it’s nice to have a backup plan, just in case. The other one I pulled and dropped at a well known rescue, where I am sure she will find her home in short order. She was very much a love bug.

So Tiny, With Such A Big Heart
Today I adopted this tiny little brown chi for a rescue; she was so lovable and cuddly, and it being so cold out that day she just wanted to be where it was warm. Yes, under my shirt. I think everyone who held her had the same feeling. She was kept nice and warm for the ride to the vets, where she was scheduled for a 2 hour layover before being picked up for her trip north. I know the driver will put her in a nice warm spot and when she finally arrives at her forever home, where I know it gets even colder, she will have her sweater waiting just for her.
