Today I pulled these four from a high kill shelter, and two were on the kill list for today. That they were still alive is because someone at a rescue cared enough to arrange that they would have a future and a chance at a life far better than their past. All were labeled rescue only because of behavioral issues and they did have issues coming from the shelter. But when off loaded, not a one was even a little grumpy. Being out of the shelter even for just for a few hours makes such a difference and allows for a big a change in their personalities. They will be vetted over the course of the next week, and be ready for their trip north where we all hope a much happier future awaits.

He Waited A Long Time For This Day
Meet Arnie, who has been waiting at a no kill shelter since March 2014. Today was his first day outside the shelter and all he could do was smell all the other dogs at the house where he will be staying until his forever home finds him. Arnie is what you call a pocket pit. Very small, but very muscular. And he was so sweet, just wanted to explore everything. I know he will get along fine with the other household members (4-legged type) once they get through the meet and greet. I would like to have stayed and watched, but I had to run. I am sure I will be hearing about Arnie down the road somewhere. And that home will find him too.
