On Tuesday, August 16th the shelter called and said they were full and would have to start killing more dogs unless we could get some out to free up kennel space. Maripat worked her magic and we pulled and transported 12 dogs that day and into the evening. We transported them to the new fosters/kennels/rescues as needed. They were a mixture of chihuahuas, poodle mixes, corgi mixes, and a Jack Russell mix. All so sweet and very scared. Since it took almost 4 hours for the paperwork on these little guys most of the deliveries was after dark, so I couldn’t get any pictures. Just assume that they were as tired and hungry as I was by the end of the night. But they were safe and that’s what counts.

k-20
Another of Ventura County’s finest canines that was scheduled to be put to death last Friday. We manage to save him by saving other dogs and freeing up kennel space so he could live. We had to promise to get him out on Monday, and we did. He is going to a foster in Pacoima. I transported him on his first leg of his journey to Granada Hills and Brooke came up from downtown L.A. to drive him the final leg of his trip. He was a little confused, but was really liking all the attention. He thought this is really neat. After being in a kennel for a few weeks, all he wanted was lovin’. One down, and I have lost count of how many more to go. Just one dog at a time is all we can do.
