Today was my first time to the new South L.A. shelter and everyone is right, it is much better than the old one; but then it should be too, having all the new modern equipment and all. I am just hoping that it carries over to the staff and they have better days, as in the way they interact with the animals. I know that if the person is in a better mood, the dogs be too. The dogs will, and do, pick up on how we feel and react accordingly. The little fuzzie I pulled for a rescue today was a product of just being a back yard dog; not much socialization and very afraid of people. It just breaks my heart to see people treat their dogs like objects. Why have them is the first question, and why keep them is the second. It just goes on and on, never seems to end. Well this is one less that will have to deal with those kind of folks, but there will be another one tomorrow.

He’s Not With Us!
Today I pulled a mom and her one pup from a shelter; wanted the second pup too, but he was already adopted. Good for him. I also pulled this sweet lab / aussie mix that was so full of energy and just wanted to be with someone. They were are all ready to leave the shelter and get on with their lives. I don’t believe that any of them have ever been to a groomer or had a bath in ages, if at all. The big one was shedding and blowing his coat like you wouldn’t believe. Well, they are all on there way to a much better place now and hopefully it won’t be long until they are in their forever homes. Let’s hope so, they deserve much better than their previous owners did for them.
