Today I adopted a white poodle from a shelter, and picked up another that was pulled by a rescue so his life could be saved. Henry was literally on his very last day on this planet, or any other. So good of a last minute rescue to step up and save Henry. He was just a bundle of energy when I walked him to the van and he just wanted to hop right in. If I could read his thoughts I am sure they were “get me out of here!” Off we went to the vets where he will spend the night, waiting on the other poodle to be fixed and both will be picked back up and taken to boarding, awaiting transport next week up north. The line never seems to end.

Only Place Is Up From Here
Today I went by a vet clinic and picked up two that were there for a rescue and then went to another shelter and pulled 2 more for a rescue. These dogs were from the hoarding situation out in the high desert. 130 dogs were turned into the shelter and the rescues have been working like mad to get them out before their time is up. And when it’s up, we know what that means; they’re dead. So I pulled these two guys and off we went to boarding. They’re not aggressive dogs, just very frightened and confused. In time and with much TLC they will settle down and make a family very proud of them. But in the meantime there will be much work that will need to be done with them to get them socialized and ready for a home environment; something they have never had.
