Meet Ms. Jiggles

February 7, 2014 by Animal Resources

This little blue mommy was so scared when I picked her up from a shelter, I just had to wonder what this poor girl had gone through in her life. None of it was pleasant, I am sure. She is definitely afraid of men, she went right to the female staff person, but wanted nothing to do with me. The staff person at the kennel where she will be staying for a few days was also male and she wasn’t too happy with him either. Now maybe that she is pregnant has something to do with it, but I don’t think so. I am sure this is not her first litter (maybe 4-5), who knows. I am sure living in the backyard somewhere won’t endear anyone to the finer points in life. I am hoping that there is someone in her future with a lot of patience and love to give, as this little girl cries out for it.

Fly-Away Day Is Here For The 17 White Chihuahaus

February 6, 2014 by Animal Resources

Well today I went back and picked up the last of the white chis that had been waiting ever so quietly at the ranch, in a very large horse stall. Yes they were very comfortable in all the hay, but they were anxious to leave. So, like catching chickens, we loaded them up and off to the airport we went. As you can see from the plane, it was much bigger than normal, and that means much faster flying time. We got them all loaded and they were so quiet, just watching everything, all this was such a new and exciting experience for them. I don’t think they were afraid as they were all together and I am sure that made them feel somewhat secure. They seem to thrive on the traveling, better than most people I believe. I have to hand it to the volunteer pilots, they do it for the love of the dogs, plus they love to fly. Without their dedication these dogs’ trip up north would be a lot longer. We have given the dogs every chance at a better life, now let’s see what happens after they get to their new fosters.
