Today I picked up 5 chihuahuas from the shelter and as long as you liked tan, they were it. All very sweet, very handleable and all looked alike. They were very quiet on the trip up north, more than I can say for some chis I have transported in the past. They just wanted out when we stopped to transfer them to another ride taking them to their new foster. So we had to be very careful that no one got loose. No one did and off they went and I hope soon they will have found their forever home. I know the rescue will try very hard to make it so.
On A Wing And A Prayer
Today was Lucy’s big day. She had been in foster for about a year and finally her forever mom was found. I picked her up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday morning and she was such a sweetheart. Not one word out of her on the ride up to Bakersfield. I believe she knew she would never see her foster mom again and she was a little sad over that; but when we arrived at her new home she was a little hesitate at first, but quickly warmed up to the daughter and off they went playing, everything forgotten about for now.
Also along for this ride was a bird that will be going to some folks that have a large outdoor aviary and I am sure she/he will do fine there. The bird did have a broken wing, which I am sure will be looked at as soon as they get her/him to the new home. All in all it sounds like a win for all.
