Today I picked up these two very sweet, and very pregnant, little ladies at the Santa Paula shelter and we proceeded out to a boarding facility that the transports use to load. These two will be on a truck heading north by this evening and hopefully will be at a fosters by Sunday. I know one is very close to having her pups and the other is still a ways out yet. I have had pups born not 10 minutes after delivering them to their destination so transporting can bring it on, so to speak. I wish all well and hope things don’t happen till later in the week, for all concerned.
Meet Lila, Finally
After waiting in the hot sun at a shelter in the desert area, I finally was able to pull Lila from the shelter and get her on her way to the beginnings of her new life. As she was listed as “rescue only” by the shelter, I still had to wait for the magical noon hour to arrive, in case anyone wanted to adopt a dog that they were not able to adopt in the first place, according to the shelters own rules. Never ceases to amaze me how county workers can so blindly enforce rules that defy logic. And they can’t seem to figure out what is wrong. Duh. Moving on as they say, Lila was delivered to a wonderful foster and she even has a potential adopter waiting her when she finishes her medical visits and has been spayed. Not long now she will begin her journey that we all hope will last a life time.
