Behind The Wire

July 6, 2014 by Animal Resources

Both of these guys were behind the wire, so to speak. Both were on their very last days at the shelter and it was now or never. Both were somewhat bitey, but that is to be expected after spending so many days crammed in with unknown dogs, fighting over just a little bit of territory to call your own. Bitey yes, mean no, stressed out yes, aggressive no. Time with good folks will fix them in no time. Doesn’t mean that scars won’t be there, they will, but time will heal them along with love.

Very Scared And Very Pregnant

July 3, 2014 by Animal Resources

This really was a very short trip for this gal as I picked her up and dropped her off all within 30 minutes, which is, for me, a short time to have her with me. Did I mention she was pregnant? Well she very much is and I would expect that she will have her litter within the week. She was very sweet, but also very frightened. People seem to forget the trauma these dogs go through when being moved around with all the new strange people going in and out of their lives in a very short time. We all need to keep in mind how we would feel in these circumstances and under their stress of being in all these strange places. When you stop and think it through, I wonder how well many of us would handle it. For some, not well. I hope all will be well for her on her new journey and she only meets the best of our kind.
