Today I pulled 4 dogs from Devore shelter for two different rescues. As you can see from the photos, they were chi and doxie rescues. A lot of rescues specialize in specific breed types, which is a good thing. But most don’t, they will try to save all that they can. A lot of rescues do only large or small breeds; there is a very good reason for this as you don’t want to bring home a large breed not tested with small dogs as someone could get hurt real quick. But again some do both. What’s important is that the dog is safe and secure. I bet the dog feels the same way.
Are We There Yet?!
We have all heard those words from kids, but if dogs could talk, they would be asking it also. Today I picked up 8 small ones and got them ready for their flight; got all the paperwork at the vets, food and water for their trip and little blankets to keep them warm when in the air. We got to the airlines and did our pre-flight check in, got everyone weighed in and then they had wait for flight time. From their viewpoint, what an exciting day. Watching all the hustle and bustle in the cargo area, then the trip to the plane, then the loading itself. I bet they are scared, but full of anticipation. Believe me guys, it’s so much better to fly for 3 hours than spend 16 hours in the back of a van. So much better. Well they are off to their new world and for most, if not all, a much better life is awaiting them.
