Today was to be their last day; until I received a call from a rescue that wanted these little ones out of the shelter where they were being held. It seems like this is played out almost daily, from one shelter or another. It’s always the last day, day after day. Why do some consider killing the dogs a daily exercise, to be played on the rescues time after time, with no let up. I don’t think that people realize how much of a toll this takes on these folks. But they step up each time, get the job done and save a few more lives; not all, but some.
2 Shelters, 2 Dogs On Their Last Day
Neither of these dogs had a name; who they were before being turned into the shelters is anyone’s guess. The little chi is very feisty and wants to be an alpha dog. The little cocker mix just wants to be held and be with someone; doesn’t really care who, just someone. Two very different dogs going to great rescues that will give them their names and find the forever homes that have so far been out of their reach. I hope now that they have a second chance, that they find that home and their days of being in cold, lonely shelter kennels are over, forever.
