Today I pulled these three little ones from a shelter for a rescue. As with all that I pull, their eyes tell of their expectation and fear. Not knowing what is happening and placing their trust in the folks that help them on the journey is all they can do. I know, and you know, they are taking their first steps towards a much better life, in most cases, than they have known before. It’s up to all of us who help on their journey to do the best we can. Their eyes have seen too much neglect and abuse in their past. We can do better.
Bakers Dozen + 3
Today I went all the way past 29 Palms out in the desert, there was even a sign that said “last chance for sand”, that how far out I was. And there I met up with another rescuer who had just taken the last 16 dogs (chi mix) from a hoarder (200 +) and was transferring them to me so I could transport them to a rescue that has already taken 30. We did it and didn’t lose a one. Not bad considering they were semi-social, but not where they like to be petted or touched in any way. He just kept breeding them and throwing them outside to fend for themselves. Well now they are off to a good start, they will get fixed and vetted and will be looking cute at a adoption event in the near future. A never ending story.
