This morning I had to transport these two little love bugs to Van Nuys for a 7:00am flight time. The only catch was I had to be in Norco, CA by at least 4:30am. Well that means that I would need to be on the road no later than 2:00am. Ok that’s doable I said. I just need to get up at 1:00am, which makes for a very short nights sleep. But that’s doable too. So getting up early and being on the road early was the plan. All this was done and we met the Wings of Rescue flight on time, everyone was loaded and the flight left on time. As you can see from the two pics that were sent after their arrival, they didn’t skip beat and look to be quite content and happy. That’s what makes all the effort worth while.
Another Thing That We Do
Today wasn’t a transport day, it was a disaster simulation training day with animal services and the Red Cross chapter. For years I have worked to get these two organizations to try and work together when setting up shelters. Well we did it. Red Cross set up their’s and animal services set up their’s and we all wanted to see how it would work out. It did just fine. Now displaced people can have their animals right next to them at the shelter and we all know how much that would mean to most folks. It’s better for them and much better for the animals, that’s what its all about.
