Dead Dog Walking

June 25, 2013 by Animal Resources

Meet Frosty, again. This is the dog from June 19th that I pulled from the shelter; then the shelter staff pulled her back and cancelled his departure, so they say, she can go to the vets to be evaluated as to the extent of his injuries and whether or not to be killed at the vets. Well they did have second thoughts and she was pulled from the shelter by another puller and she was taken to a vets, then went home with a foster. I picked her up at a vets today, so she could be transported to another vet hospital to be evaluated again. Her wounds are healing, rescues are just concerned about eye issues. I will let you know his prognosis after his vet visit. It will be a long road for this girl, but she will make it.

It Took A Year

June 23, 2013 by Animal Resources

These two dogs are the last of a group of twelve that had been abandoned at a downtown vet clinic and had been forgotten by everyone. All except one rescuer. She has spent a year getting them out by herself, raising the money, having them vetted, transported to good rescues and for all of them to have found homes. These two here are the last of that group. Named Dolly and Saint, I picked them up and transported them to a boarding facility, where they are awaiting final air transport in the next few weeks to a well recognized rescue up north that has agreed to take them and get them adopted. These two have been in a kennel for a full year. They do look awfully good after being cooped up and they are very friendly with people but with other dogs, that will still need to be determined. At least now they have a chance at a better life and we can all move forward and help others that are still in need. We may win some battles, but the war goes on.
