Today I pulled and transported this fella from the shelter to boarding, with a stop along the way to pick up one more that will be going north on a transport. This shepherd mix, with no name, has never been socialized and was very scared of people. Well he destroyed his large kennel while being transported and got loose in the van. Needless to say there were some tense moments as we barreled down the freeway at 70 mph. He is about the size of a full grown shepherd but he curled up next to another kennel and I was hoping he would stay there until we got to a safe place to pull over. We did and I got him secured and reloaded in another kennel, then we had a quiet trip to the boarding facility. I off loaded him and there he will wait for his next ride north and hopefully find his long awaited forever home.
Was she Really A Bad Girl?
I picked up this high energy girl, named Sandy, from the shelter where she was an owner turn-in. They said she just chews up everything. Ruined the house. Must go. Now. Whether she died there or not didn’t seem to matter. My guess is that not enough attention was paid to her from whomever in the family first wanted her. I guess they didn’t research the different breeds well enough. Wonder who pays for that? Yep, the dog. This big girl needs a home with lots of kids so that they will take turns in tiring her out. It works every time. Well now she will have a chance to realize that dream as she is off to a wonderful rescue, who will be very careful where she will be calling home in the near future.
