As you can see from the photo, Liselle was not feeling well. She is about to give birth to her puppies and on top of that she has kennel cough. Poor girl really was not at her best. The staff carried her out and gently put her in the kennel and we made her as comfortable as we could for her ride to the vet’s office where she will be staying for a while. How long I don’t know, given her complications. I am sure we will be seeing her again with her little ones in tow. Sweet Cheeks is the little brindle pup that I also pulled and took him to a different vet’s office. He also has kennel cough, but he was still going strong and everyone at the office fell in love with him. What’s not to love about a puppy?
Literally One Hour From Dying
Meet Chico, a pit-basset hound mix that I pulled from Camarillo on Friday evening at 6pm. He was scheduled to be killed at 7pm according to the staff. Yes, just killed. No big deal, just another dead dog. One of too many from that shelter. Where will it end? When people spay and neuter their pets, that’s where it starts. Until then all we can do is save one dog at a time. But that just isn’t good enough for the ones left behind. They’re dead now. It’s after 7pm.
