Tonight I had to rush to the Camarillo shelter and transport a puppy and cat to the Westlake Village Animal Hospital before closing. It generally takes 30 minutes per animal to pull them from the shelter and that would leave me with 15 minutes to spare. As they were going to kill the pup that evening, he had to get out, like now. I did get them both out and to Westlake on time and they were checked in with 5 minutes to spare. The pup (don’t know his name) was very sweet and I couldn’t believe he didn’t get adopted. The cat was a bite case and not very happy to be bouncing around in a van. She did have a medical issue and that is now being treated as well at Westlake. All in all a very stressful evening, but well worth doing as it saved two more lives that now have a chance at a better life.
There Were Supposed To Be Two
When I arrived to pick up the dogs from Blue Cross Vet Clinic only Hercules was released by the Vets. But Hercules was ready to go. He had been at the vet clinic since we pulled him out of the shelter a few weeks ago he hadn’t seen much of the world. I noticed on the ride up to Mindy’s that he just kept looking out the window, I imagine wondering if he ever going to be part of it again. Well I can say he will get all the lovin’ that he wants during the time he will spend at Mindy’s. I believe he is on the next transport going to a rescue up north, I don’t know which one at this time. But his time is coming, we will make sure of that.
