Two Going In Opposite Directions

March 31, 2012 by Animal Resources

I went to the Camarillo shelter on Saturday to pick up both dogs who were on their very last day at the shelter. I took Abbey, the pittie, a vet down in the valley. She has a small case of kennel cough and before being transported any further, she needed to be treated. I delivered her to the vet’s then headed north to a rescue in Solvang that agreed to take Little Brownie. For those of you who aren’t familiar with her, Little Brownie had been classified by the shelter as aggressive. That is not what I found when I evaluated this 3-pound girl. I found a very frightened and confused little dog who badly needed out of the shelter. Well, now she is out and I delivered her to the rescue up there; they are very happy with her and she will get adopted very quickly in that area.

Meet Marci

March 29, 2012 by Animal Resources

Marci is very lucky in some ways, not so much in others. Her back story is that she was hit by a car and left there to die by her previous “owners”. A very caring individual found her and took her to their vet to see what, if anything, could be done. Well a lot was done and through the combined efforts of a lot of people, she was vetted and paid for by donations from people like you. Now she is all better. I picked her up at the vet office and drove on the I-5 to Santa Neeles, up past Fresno, and met another person who will drive her to a rescue in Oregon. It seems fate meant for her to go to Oregon, though I can think of easier ways to get there. She is such a cutie and I can’t see why she won’t be adopted on her first time there.
