I was sent to a vet clinic in San Bernadino today to gather up 2 pairs of dogs that had been turned into the Devore shelter together. As you can see, the Aussie and Queensland Healer were really stressed out with all the trauma of going to the shelter, spending a week there, then going to the vet’s for spay-neuter. And now I was moving them again. This time they went to a boarding facility in Palmdale and from there they will be going up north where a furever home is currently awaiting them. The other two were complete opposites. The big red guy just wanted to play. The little terrier wanted my fingers to snack on, not very well-behaved. Both pairs were put back together again at the boarding facility and their stress levels should go down. They all stand a much better chance of finding their furever homes up north than they ever did down here.
Lots Of Spay-Neuter Candidates
Today I worked 11 hours driving all the cats and dogs to get fixed. There were 3 large, 10 small-medium dogs and 10 cats (2 feral). This required that I make 2 complete round trips to Simi Valley for drop off and two complete pickup trips to accommodate everyone. We got them all fixed, it just took a lot of driving time. Come to find out, one dog had already been fixed. No problem, we substituted another one and off we went. One cat had a notch in her ear, meaning she was already fixed. That’s okay, we found another to take her place. There isn’t any shortage of likely candidates and the line never seems to get smaller.
