Today I drove to Visalia, near Fresno, to pull and transport these two little ones from the Valley Oak SPCA on the outskirts of town. The folks there are wonderful and very dedicated to what they do and whom they do it for. The pups were very frightened and had to be carried out to the van because neither one wanted to walk. There was some crying on the long drive back, but generally they were very quiet. When we got to the boarding facility they just wanted out so they could meet everyone who was barking at them. It was so funny, they didn’t know who to greet first. After a trip to the vet, they will be going up north to a fine rescue and I have no doubt these guys will be adopted in short order.
It’s The Spay-Neuter Run Again
This week I had 14 dogs and 5 cats to pick up from Santa Paula and transport to the clinic for the fixens. Spay-neuter is really the only answer to the overpopulation problem (besides education), it seems that each week the numbers keep getting bigger. And if that’s so then we will just keep delivering more. I can’t say enough good things about the crew at the clinic. Boy do they work hard, I wish more people could see them in action. I believe more of the public would have a better appreciation of how much they give in terms plain old hard work, and of their impact to the overall pet population problem. Well done guys.
