This 8 year old retriever must not have known a good day in his entire life. Besides being neglected physically, as his medical issues were never taken care off, he is about 25 pounds underweight, so he wasn’t fed regularly. A retriever rescue said he had too many problems, so kill him. Well as far as I know, this dog has some medical issues and is underweight; he also has a great personality and with a little TLC would make a fine companion for someone. I pulled him from Devore today and off he went to the vets for treatment and then he will be going to a trainer for a little workup then it’s home to a foster for a while to show him someone does give a damn about him. I am sure that for the remainder of his life things will be much better than they have been in the past.

Today I made different stops to pick up these little guys and get them to the vets for overnight boarding in preparation for their flight to Washington state on Saturday. In Washington they will be picked up by their rescue then go to their new fosters and finally get adopted. It’s a long journey and I am sure they will be very tired when they finally get to their foster home. The 6 hour flight is preferable to the 25 hour overland drive and I am sure they will be much more comfortable, but still tired. It’s very stressful on these guys no matter how much is done to make them comfortable. but it’s the best we can do
