Alise was one of the dogs we had pulled a few weeks back and has been in foster with Sara in Ventura since then. We finally found a rescue in Oregon that would take her and get her adopted. So I picked this poor sweet girl up in Ventura at 9pm to begin her long ride to Oregon. Linda was going north to deliver her foster dog to the rescue and agreed to take Alise along also. Since there were only two dogs in the car they got to travel in style. I met Linda at Castaic Junction at 10:30pm, as she wanted to travel at night so its cooler on the dogs across the central valley. And we all know how long, hot and boring that drive can be. Linda called and said the dogs traveled fine and arrived safely at their destination and everything went well. I know Alise will find her forever home there as she is so sweet and loving. Again, just a link in the chain to get these wonderful dogs to a loving home. Can’t wait to hear who the lucky adopter is for Alise.
Poor Marley
Months back Marley was scheduled for a transport to Canada, but being deemed aggressive in his behavior, he was pulled and another dog was substituted in his place. Marley stayed around the kennel for some weeks while a decision was made about what to do with him. Finally a dog trainer that said he could work with Marley was contracted to see if some of his issues could be corrected. After two months or so some progress was made, but not enough. So again Marley was transferred to a kennel that is going to re-evaluate him to determine what his long range plans can be. Marley is somewhat dog aggressive, not extreme, but can be a little hard to handle at times around other dogs. He also likes to be mouthy around your hands and arms and that usually means a dominate trait that needs to be corrected. We will have to wait and see how his evaluation comes out and what his long range prospects could be. We will keep our fingers crossed and wish for the best.
