I guess you can tell Halloween is getting close. I was asked to transport a pittie, named Monster, from one foster home to another in the L.A area. Now this big boy was not socialized to the degree that would be acceptable for an adoption and really needed some work and training to get him there. I didn’t take any pics as I was to busy trying to safely handle this guy and keep him under control. He was 70 lbs of solid muscle and didn’t give an inch. I can see why the foster wanted him moved to someone who might be able to handle him better. I am sure that his new foster is committed to this and will spend the time with him that he needs so badly. Hopefully he will move on to a real home and family and I won’t have to transport him again.
Must Be Senior Appreciation Day
I just happen to be at the Camarillo shelter trying to straighten out paperwork issues with the staff there, when Mary from up in Oregon called and said she would like to take the two senior huskies in one of the pens. Would I pull them for her? Of course I would! As I knew of the rescue they would be going to, I asked them where they were. Well they were on the other side of the grapevine, but were willing to turn around and come to Camarillo if I would pull those two gentle giants. Now remember they have been at the shelter quite a while and everyone was fearful that any day, like this coming Tuesday, they would be killed. I told them to turn around and I would do the paperwork while they were on their way and they would be set to go when they arrived. Well I got it all done and they showed up around noon, we went over paperwork, releases and such, had the dogs brought out and as you can see from the pics they were ready to go. They settled right in the back of the car like it was their own and they wanted to get out of dodge. As you can see from their coats, they haven’t had the best of care and I mentioned to Mary that the fur will fly once she starts heading down the road and the wind starts blowing. These two didn’t stand a chance of living one more week, now they are on a new adventure. You just never know how these things will play out.
